Instrument and Bow Restorer

Full-time Instrument and Bow Restorer position open in March 2009. Seeking graduate of a violin making degree program. Workshop experience preferred. Principal duties: set-up violins, violas and cellos including dressing fingerboards, fitting soundposts, pegs and bridges. Bow rehairs, thumb grips and tip plates. Other duties would involve crack repairs, peg bushings, neck sets, replacement of fingerboards, retouch varnish. Important for this position is orderliness; ability to assist in monitoring shop supplies. Do necessary paperwork to facilitate management of shop resources. Customer contact and technical assistance as needed. Hours are Tuesday through Saturday. Benefits include vacation, sick pay, health and disability insurance. For consideration send resume to:
