He also was a teacher with the Violin Making School of America (VMSA) in Salt Lake City. He was a pioneer in the use of native grown American wood for his fine violins, violas and cellos, preferring to source particularly from Oregon and Washington State.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Appearance:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This 16&#8243; viola is an excellent representation of masterful quality of work Michael produced. The instrument flaunts a beautiful deep red varnish on its belly and slab-cut back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sound &amp; Feel:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It produces immense clarity and precision across the entire instrument. The lower register rings with depth and richness, and the upper register projects well and easily.
