During his studies, he worked in the shop of Mark Schwartz before co-founding the Guarneri House violin shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with Phillip Greenberg. Although an accomplished bassist, Reiley devoted his career to bow making, drawing inspiration from the classic models of Tourte, Peccatte, Tubbs, and Dodd.
