Danuta Pawlikowska (b.1971) studied violin making in Nowy Targ, Poland at the Fine Arts School in Zakopane and graduated in 1995. Danuta apprenticed under her uncle Jan Pawlikowski at his workshop in Krakow, Poland. Pawlikowska has been running her own workshop since 1995 using the classical models Stradivari, Guarneri, Brothers Amati, and Gasparo da Salo for her violins, violas and cellos. She has competed and placed in a number of international violin competitions and is known for the beautiful tone of her instruments. She is a member of the Polish Violin Makers Union.
This violin has a creamy, rich tone that projects vibrantly across all strings with ease. With clarity, refined lyricism, a lovely surprise carved into the scroll, and plenty of power, it would be a great choice for an advanced or professional player. This violin will enchant the player.
