The Carcassi violin is based on the Amati model.
Lorenzo and Tommaso Carcassi were brothers who shared and collaborated at their Florence workshop from 1735 to 1789. Their training is thought to be from G.B. Gabrielli, considered to the be leading violin maker in Florence during the mid-18th century. The brothers’ work was characterized by correct workmanship, attention to detail, and fine taste in both appearance and tone of their instruments. At times, they worked independently, however, this violin is an exceptional result of their work together as shown by having both their names on the label. This is a serious or professional violinist’s instrument with a refined, expressive sound that carries.
It should be noted this violin is accompanied by a Kenneth Warren & Son Certificate.
The violin has a confident voice that is clean and richly resonant. What is so remarkable about this violin is, when asked by the bow, the sound can be molded from an assured boldness to a tender, refined, ethereal quality. Technical passages are vibrant and clean.
The professional or passionate violinist will welcome the Carcassi to explore and perform solo, chamber, and orchestral musical challenges.
