Sebastian Dalinger or Dallinger (b. 1735, d.1809) was born in Vienna, Austria. Dalinger is known as one of the master violin makers of Vienna in the 18th century and was a well-known entity during his lifetime, producing many fine instruments. His instruments were usually built based on the Jacob Stainer model with high arching and deep edged flutes. He is also known for his finely carved scrolls. Beautifully restored by Andrew Dipper, this violin projects with incredible depth and power. It sings in the middle strings, offering a complementary rich G string with a lovely E string. Whether you are an experienced musician seeking to project your sound, or someone just beginning their journey in historical performance practice who wants to explore the range of sound early instruments can offer, this exquisite violin provides the versatility and ease of playability that one needs to perform with authenticity.
