Violin Bow: Louis Bazin w/Guillaume cert
Charles Louis Bazin (Louis Bazin, b. 1881, d. 1953) was the son, pupil, and successor of Charles Nicholas Bazin). Louis Bazin was the exceptional child taking up bow making at the tender age of 12 apprenticing with his father. He took over the family workshop in 1907 and continued in that role until 1952. He is considered the foremost member of the Bazin family for the playability of his bows. He achieved the highest standard and renown in the craft. 20th century violin virtuosi revered his bows and indeed, William Henley is quoted: “No better bows made by any contemporary maker.” The bow itself is resplendent and eye-catching. The stick is superbly balanced and delivers nuance to every note played with ease. Each note has a luminous quality with a full spectrum of tonal color. If the bow were to compete in the Olympics, a gold medal would be won in each bowing technique event. You will discover a universe of musical experiences with this bow. We look forward to seeing you!
