Dealers, Makers & Restorers of Fine Violins, Violas, Cellos & Bows
the fine art of restoring, conserving, and building historic musical instruments
Pierre Vidoudez (b. 1907, fl. Lyons & Paris, France, d. 1994 Geneva, Switzerland) was coached by his father, Alfred (whose vita included bowmaking with none other than G. Bazin and Mougenot). Alfred’s intrepid son continued his quest for excellence attending the Mittenwald School of Violin Making; worked for Boulangeot in Lyons; and studied repair and restoration with Caressa in Paris. If that was not enough, Pierre published volumes on bow and violin making AND was elected President of the Swiss Violin Makers group in 1952. Pierre is esteemed for his splendid copies of bows on the Tourte and Peccatte patterns. This bow we have waiting for you will enrich your life with both its’ character and a Bein & Fushi certification. The bow plays the violin with elegance and the ringing quality of a fine Waterford crystal bell. The flexible stick enhances expressive playing at all dynamics, yet retains a refined firmness for stability and control. Seamless bow changes and technical prowess you ask? Of course!
