The proceeds from the Midori recital in Dawson, Minnesota which Givens Violins helped sponsor in 2007, were used for a three month residency by the Artaria String Quartet of St. Paul. In January 2009 the Artaria established three quartets in Dawson (pop.1750) and coached them over a three month period ending with a concert of the three student quartets and the Artaria Quartet in March. Andrew Dipper and Claire Givens were pleased to be present for both concerts and to witness the level of dedication and inspiration created by these events.
