Born in Taichung, Taiwan, Jim Lin started his musical journey on percussion at age four. Before picking up the violin and piano at twelve, he was actually a competitive baseball player and even made it onto Taiwan’s U-12 national team. Jim earned his Master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Professor Albert Markov, and he’s now pursuing a Doctoral degree at the University of Minnesota under Professor Stephanie Arado. When he’s not practicing, Jim enjoys playing video games and watching sports, especially baseball and soccer.
