The Maker:

Founded in 1995 by Brazilian-born bow maker Marco Raposo, Marco Raposo Bows carries forward a deep tradition of fine bow making rooted in Brazil’s rich Pernambuco heritage.

After studying bow making at the University of New Hampshire and working as an archetier for Water Violet Music, Marco returned to Brazil and established his workshop high in the mountains of Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, home of the Pernambuco tree.

Each bow is handcrafted and hand-signed, combining traditional craftsmanship with Marco’s own pursuit of excellence. His commitment extends to preserving the very resource at the heart of his craft through sustainable forest management and the careful recovery and reuse of Pernambuco wood.
