The Maker:

Douglas Cox received his early training as a violin-maker in Mittenwald, Germany in the late 1960’s and has since gone on to carve out a tremendous career as a master maker. Having received numerous awards from VSA competitions, Douglas Cox instruments are catching the eyes and ears of top players worldwide.

Appearance:

This violin is exceptional: It has a stunning red-orange over amber varnish with a neatly flamed back. It also has a beautifully carved tailpiece with a similar carving on the pegs.
