The Maker:

A seasoned veteran of the Brazilian bow industry, Marcos Pereira began his career in 1984 roughing out sticks for other bowmakers and then in 1990 began making his own bows.  In 2003, Pereira spent time studying at the workshop of Pierre Guillaume to refine his skills and thus becoming the first maker of Arcos Brasil special edition bows.  Givens Violins is offering this magnificent gold mounted special edition viola bow.  This specially designed bow has a gold-fitted frog, ferrule, gold wire wrapping, and gold ebony button.  Lovely!

Sound & Feel:

The bow is comfortable to play with and is well balanced.  The stick is supple for technical finesse and tone color, tracks confidently on the strings, and produces a beaming, clear tone.  This bow would be a great fit for an advanced or pre-professional violist.
