The Makers:
Christopher Savino is a highly respected American luthier whit experiences in violin making for more than 35 years. He began his career in Cleveland, Ohio, training in the workshop of H. Roth and Peter Horn, where he laid the foundation for his craftsmanship.
In 1982, Savino moved to Denton, Texas, to pursue jazz guitar studies at the University of North Texas. While there, he established his own workshop and spent the next 19 years building violins and guitars. Since 2001, he has focused exclusively on crafting fine stringed instruments for Robertson & Sons.
His commitment to exceptional tone has been recognized with numerous awards, including Certificates of Merit for Tone from the Violin Society of America (2010), along with Silver Medals for Tone from the Violin Society of America in 2014 and 2017.
Appearance:
It features a light yellow-brown varnish over golden ground with antiqued finish, and made of fine-grained spruce top and beautiful flamed one-piece maple back.
Sound & Feel:
This violin has a sweet, warm tone with clarity.
