The Makers:
Violin maker Jeffrey Robinson earned a B.S. in Physics and spent five years in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot and computer programmer before shifting his focus to music and craftsmanship. After graduating from the Violin Making School of America in 1979, he gained extensive experience in repair, restoration, and teaching while working with Peter Prier and later at Jacques Francais Rare Violins Inc. under René Morel.
In 1988, he established his own workshop in Boulder, Colorado, later relocating to Flagstaff, Arizona. He has also taught at the Violin Society of America’s restoration workshops under Vahakn Nigogosian. Since 2018, he has focused exclusively on instrument making, blending traditional methods with selective use of computer-assisted acoustical analysis.
