The Makers:

Petio Kostov is an award-winning maker based in Chicago, who studied violin-making with Vladimir Naidenov in Bulgaria before entering the Chicago School of Violinmaking, where he studied under Rebecca Elliot and Tchu ho Lee. His education in electrical engineering gave him valuable insights into the science of acoustics. His artistic craftsmanship has earned him an international reputation among distinguished musicians and promising young artists.

Appearance:

Varnished in orange-brown over golden ground, this violin has a striking one-piece back that matches the rib and scroll.

Sound & Feel:

It has a bold, warm tone with strong projection and speaks with ease across the four strings. It gives you a silky, elegant singing voice on the upper register and a juicy, robust sound in the lower.
