Cat grew up in the northwest suburbs of Minneapolis where she spent her time studying piano and classical voice, singing in choirs, and playing many years of basketball before admitting that music is her calling. She holds a BA in English from Macalester College where she continued to focus on classical voice under the instruction of Pat Kent. In addition to working with Givens Violins, Cat is pursuing a path in opera and currently sings with the VocalEssence Ensemble Singers and the Basilica of St. Mary’s Schola Cantorum, as well as various projects and churches around the Twin Cities.
