Dealers, Makers & Restorers of Fine Violins, Violas, Cellos & Bows
the fine art of restoring, conserving, and building historic musical instruments
This fine violin bow is from the Morizot family workshop established in 1919 and located in Mirecourt. In 1920, Lois Morizot trained five of his six sons in bow making marking the origin of the workshop. The Morizot family tradition in the atelier was acquired from Cuniot-Hury, Bazin, and Sartory. After receiving several awards at a major exhibition in Paris and mentoring many significant bowmakers, the workshop closed in 1970.
This very comfortable and reliable bow pulls a sumptuous, warm, glowing, yet bold sound from the violin. You will revel in how athletic the bow is and how stable it is from frog to tip. Lyrical passages will flow like silk across the strings and the most technical pieces will be played with ease and confidence. Come celebrate finding a new, exciting, and colorful voice for your violin!
