Dealers, Makers & Restorers of Fine Violins, Violas, Cellos & Bows
The Maker:
Danuta Pawlikowska (b. 1971) studied violin making in Nowy Targ, Poland, at the Fine Arts School in Zakopane and graduated in 1995. Danuta apprenticed under her uncle Jan Pawlikowski at his workshop in Krakow, Poland. Danuta has been running her own workshop since 1995 utilizing the classical models Stradivari, Guarneri, Brothers Amati, and Gasparo da Salo for her violins, violas and cellos. She has competed and placed well in a number of international violin competitions and is widely known for the beautiful tone of her visually exquisite instruments. Importantly, she is a member of the Polish Violin Makers Union.
Sound & Feel:
This violin has creamy, silky and rich tone that speaks vibrantly across all strings with awe-inspiring ease. With clarity, refined lyricism, a lovely surprise carved into the scroll, and plenty of power, the violin would be a brilliant choice for an advanced or professional player. This violin will enchant the player! Danuta’s violins are consistently a “staff pick” here at Givens Violins!
