The Maker:

Claudio Roberto Carlesso Chagas (b. 1973) is a master bow maker at Arcos Brasil. Born in João Neiva, Brazil, he began his career in 1993 preparing and roughing out bow sticks for established makers before advancing to bow making in 1997. His experience and dedication to traditional craftsmanship have made him one of the workshop’s most accomplished artisans. Today, Chagas is responsible for producing many of Arcos Brasil’s Special Edition bows, which are appreciated for their craftmanship and reliable playing qualities. His bows bear the stamp “C. Chagas – Brasil.”

Arcos Brasil is widely recognized as one of the leading producers of fine Pernambuco bows, combining traditional craftsmanship with the rich bow-making heritage of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Since its founding in the 1990s, the company has earned an international reputation for producing bows that offer exceptional quality, playability, and value.
