Dealers, Makers & Restorers of Fine Violins, Violas, Cellos & Bows
The Maker:
Jean-Pascal Nehr began his bow-making training in 1974 at the Mirecourt School under master bow maker Bernard Ouchard, graduating in 1977. He subsequently established his workshop in Paris, where he combined restoration and repair work with the creation of his own bows, drawing inspiration from the work of François Nicolas Voirin.
From 1986 to 1990, Nehr worked as archetier in the workshop of C.L. Hommel in Marseille. Following his return to Paris, he devoted himself to crafting bows inspired by the finest traditions of the early French school, particularly the work of François Xavier Tourte. An award-winning maker and laureate of international bow-making competitions, Nehr is widely respected for bows that unite refined craftsmanship, elegant design, and exceptional playing qualities.
