The Maker:
Born in 1929 in Klingenthal, Germany, K. Lothar Meisel was the 9th generation violinmaker from the famed Meisel family. He began studying his craft in Germany after his involvement in WWII, was later employed by Scherl and Roth in the United States and is best known for his work that came out of his own shop after settling in Owatonna, Minnesota.

This violin has gorgeous red-orange varnish with a fabulous one-piece back.
