The Makers:

Qiusheng Zhao was born in Beijing in 1954 and began playing violin at an early age. As a young adult, Zhao became interested in craftsmanship while working in stage art and props design. Eventually he decided to pursue a career in violin making, and in 1988 opened his own workshop in Beijing. His violins are loved by lots of Chinese violinists as well as violinists internationally.

Appearance:

This violin has red-brown varnish over golden ground with medium grained spruce top and highly flamed back.

Sound & Feel:

It offers a crisp, clear upper register alongside a warm core lower register. It produces a bright, bold tone with strong projection.
