Violin Bow: *Klaus W. Vebel**, S/E, Pern
The Maker:
The Uebel family’s bow-making tradition began on March 4, 1892, when Richard Uebel founded the family’s workshop. The family’s craftsmanship continued through subsequent generations, preserving a tradition of precision and dedication to the art of bow making.
Klaus W. Uebel initially trained as a toolmaker, but soon realized that his true passion lay in continuing his family’s bow-making heritage. He undertook a second apprenticeship to retrain as a bow maker, fully committing himself to the family craft. In 1982, Klaus W. Uebel earned his Master Craftsman’s Certificate and assumed responsibility for upholding the workshop’s long-standing reputation. Working with exceptional care, precision, and attention to detail, he continued the high standards established by generations before him, ensuring that the Uebel name remained synonymous with quality bow making.
