Violin: Karl Wurm, Erlangen 1980
The Makers:
Karl Wurm honed his craft in Schönbach (Luby), Czechoslovakia, an historically significant center for violinmaking. After WWII, he moved to Erlangen, Germany, joining a new community of makers just north of Nurnberg. He was one of the few makers to leave Schönbach with his aged maple and spruce wood, the “gold standard” of instrument makers because of its extremely resonant tone. Givens Violins has always considered his violins and violas to be exceptional in their price range and we are very pleased when we have the chance to offer them to our customers.
Appearance:
This gorgeous violin is varnished a Golden-Amber color on its belly and the handsome, fiery two-piece back.
Sound & Feel:
It draws a very colorful and resonant quality across all registers. This violin has a quick response, and because of its smaller size will help smaller players feel more comfortable without sacrificing power, or quality.

Belly: Spruce, Two-Piece
Back: Maple, Two-Piece
