The Maker:
Marcos Pereira das Neves (b. 1972) is a Brazilian bow maker and a key figure in Arcos Brasil. Born in Aracruz, he began his journey in 1984, initially roughing out bow sticks for bowmakers before fully dedicating himself to bow making in 1990. In 2003, he further refined his skills working in the workshop of renowned master maker Pierre Guillaume in Brussels, an experience that helped shape his refined approach to craftsmanship. Marcos is recognized for his steadily evolving craftsmanship and contribution to contemporary Brazilian bow making. His work is stamped “M. Pereira Brasil” and is appreciated for its reliable construction, balanced handling, and strong playing qualities.
Arcos Brasil is widely recognized as one of the leading producers of fine Pernambuco bows, combining traditional craftsmanship with the rich bow-making heritage of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Since its founding in the 1990s, the company has earned an international reputation for producing bows that offer exceptional quality, playability, and value.
