Violin Bow: F. Lotte, NS/E, Pern w/cert
Francois Lotte (b. 1889, d. 1970) was the son of violinmaker Georges Lotte, who worked for J.B. Vuillaume and then for Derazey. Francois chose becoming an archetier and was believed to have served his apprenticeship with Bazin (as he was found on the Bazin shop list of workers until 1921). After becoming a prisoner of war in WWI and his release, he married into the Ouchard family. Regardless, Lotte started working for the Cuniot-Hury firm in 1922 until 1925. After some professional unrest, Lotte established his own shop in 1926. In 1936, he hired several assistants including his son Roger Francois, and Lotte continued his superlative bow making until retiring in 1960. His work is synonymous with elegant craftsmanship and a commitment to reliability and quality. Come bask in the historical and performance significance this Lotte bow offers with a cert to boot.
Are you seeking a bow with unflappable stability from tip to frog that embraces the strings with robust and sonorous sound? The Lotte is your answer.
